Dan Cox, age 54, passed away on August 4, 2021. He was born on December 30, 1966, in Salt Lake City, UT, to Robert Cox and Veon Hutchings Cox.

Dan was the friend everyone wanted to have. He loved his family and friends to the end and would do anything to protect them. He was a prepper and always wanted to be prepared for whatever may happen. He was devoted to God, and his love for his country, especially his 2nd amendment. He was a firm Believer in America! Dan would do anything for his family or friends and was always reaching out to them to verify if they needed or if he could do anything for them. He loved searching for and getting deals, he learned this from his beloved mother, Veon. She taught him how to stretch a dollar, but also how to find and enjoy the special things in life. He loved driving and going for rides...road trips were his thing. He loved the mountains, National Parks, and the ocean…. Driving up PC1 or through Zions…Dan was in his element and always had something special planned for the trip whether it was a surprise extra day or a fire on the beach eating smores, he loved making each moment special.

Dan worked at Buehner Block for almost 20 years before moving down south to the warmer climate. He then was so proud of the franchise businesses he was able to build and grow. He most recently worked for Mesquite Gaming as their Count Team Manager and really enjoyed those he worked with. He always had a great story to tell about one of his team members or colleagues.

Dan’s boys, Spencer and Nicholas, were his world and everything he did was usually surrounded by something for them. He pushed them because of the potential he saw in them. He never missed a game or track meet and even got his black belt in Taekwondo with his boys. He was so proud of them and taught them everything he knew, including how important it was to get their Eagle Scout and be prepared for anything. He could talk about them for hours, as many know, and was so proud to call them, not just his sons, but his friends also.

His forever love, Wendy, she was the love of his life...you wouldn’t think Dan without Wendy. They were married May 1, 1993, and knew it was for eternity. He took care of her until the end and even then, sent her special gifts at the hospital while they were both in the ICU. Dan always loved to put a smile on her face…bringing home some flowers for her desk, taking her for rides, a movie, or even just talking about their dreams and wishes... They were a team and always called each other best friends. From day one, he called himself her “Tramp” and said that she was his “Lady”. Their love is “Always and Forever”.

Survived by: Wife, Wendy, Sons: Spencer and Nicholas (Twins) Sisters: Susan (Ken), Julie (Mike), Brother, Duran (Teresa), MIL, Marjie Page, Brother-in-Law, Gordon (Machele), Aunts, Uncles and his many loved nieces and nephews

Proceeded in death by: Mom, Veon, FIL Ralph, Brother Steve Cox, Sister in laws Tamie and Debbie, Grandparents, and Father Bob.

Wendy, Nick and Spencer my heart aches for your loss. Dan is one of a kind and I will miss sharing political articles and law enforcement videos with him. Most of all I will miss the joy he puts in Wendy’s eyes and seeing the love he has for Nick and Spencer. Your family was always his focus and will continue to be. Love and hugs to all of you.

My heart goes out to Wendy and the whole family. I was lucky enough to get to meet Dan when we went out a couple of times during my business travel. He was a wonderful soul, happy, funny and showed how much he loved Wendy and his family by the way he talked. He will be missed!

We remember with great joy the day you and Dan were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple on that beautiful May morning. You were such a lovely bride and Dan a handsome groom. Seems like only yesterday we stood there with camera in hand capturing the happiness of your life beginning as a couple. Also, remembered the day you and Dan met us, with Ralph and Marjie in the lobby at the Marriott Hotel as you announced you were expecting twins! We've loved being close to your family watching Spencer and Nick as toddlers and cheering for them at t-ball games, baseball, basketball, and football. Watching their achievements in school, Scouting and life. Dan was in "all the way" . We loved the way he loved you. Wendy. You always knew the strength of his love and devotion. It was obvious to us all. You have been blessed beyond words. We are still unable to comprehend that Dan isn't with you...but we know he is and always will be nearby walking with you and his precious sons. He's given them the best he had to give.....and that was his nurturing, love and example of all that is good and lasting. Love always, ❤George and Judy Prince.
