Daniel Keith Goodsell, age 72, passed away November 24, 2021 surrounded by his loving family.

Dan was born March 18, 1949 to Vernon and Olive Goodsell. He had 5 amazing brothers and sisters and they all lived in the tiniest house. They loved spending time and doing things together. Dan graduated in 1967 from Granite high school. He joined the navy along with one of his best friends in 1968. He was so proud to be a veteran and would tell anyone that would listen.

He met the love of his life in 1979 and, after she decided it was time, they got married in 1980. 9 months later along came Keith, whether they were ready or not. Dan was so proud to have a boy. The girls came after and he was an extremely proud dad. Dan was a terribly hard worker and loved to spend time especially with Keith working on cars and on miscellaneous projects in the garage.

Dan enjoyed travelling as much as possible with Carolyn. He was a Christmas fanatic, driving everyone crazy with Christmas music year round and always quoting his favorite movie/story by Charles Dicken’s A Christmas Carol. His favorite line being “Marley was dead to begin with”.

In 2013 Dan became a first time grandpa and he couldn’t be more proud of that title. He loved to tease and play with all of them. The most recent was having little Eliza come in and scream Boo at him and he would say it back no matter how many times she wanted to do it. He loved letting all of them have a turn riding on his walker.

Dan is survived by his loving wife Carolyn; his beautiful daughters Becky (Charlie) Pectol; Wendy (Cody) Covert and Amber (Chris) Earl; his 5 amazing grandkids; 2 sisters Sylvia (Doug) Wright and Joan Ruth; along with numerous nieces; nephews and cousins.

Dan is preceded in death by his son Keith Goodsell, his parents, inlaws, 2 brothers Ron Goodsell and Norman Goodsell, sister Bonnie Goodsell and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday November 30, 2021 at 12:00 pm at the church building located at 6673 Clernates Drive, West Jordan UT 84081. A viewing will be held Monday November 29, 2021 from 6-8pm at Larkin Mortuary-Riverton 3688 West 12600 South Riverton, UT 84065. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the funeral.

What a good man! May you find joy in the wonderful memories you made together and comfort in the knowledge that you are an eternal family. We loved seeing his patriotic and holiday-themed ties at church and enjoyed the insights from his life experiences that he shared in class. He will be missed.
