Darleen Esther Pearson Labrum, 89, returned to her Heavenly Home on May 11, 2021, in Riverton, Utah. She was a beautiful, sweet, loving, angelic mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend. Darleen was born on January 7, 1932, in Salt Lake City, Utah to Ivan August Pearson and Ruth Virginia Brough Pearson. Darleen married Gerald (Jerry) Nichols Labrum on April 19, 1951, in the Salt Lake Temple.

Darleen loved music. She was extremely talented at playing the Spanish, electric, and steel guitar which she began playing at the early age of nine. She also played the ukulele and had a beautiful singing voice. However, her greatest accomplishment was her children and family.

She is a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She emulated the Savior with Christ-like love for everyone she came in contact with.

Darleen is preceded in death by her husband, Jerry, her parents, her sister Donna Lorraine Pearson Sleight, and her son-in-law Jay D. McChesney (deceased husband of Sharen). She is survived by her children Shawna Labrum, Karen (Scott) Tuckett, Sharen McChesney, Gerald Ivan (Judy) Labrum, Jana (Kenny) Bartell, 16 grandchildren, and 23 great-grandchildren.

The family wishes to extend their sincere thanks to Beehive Homes of Riverton for the loving care given to our Mother.

We had Darleen and Jerry and their children as our neighbors in Taylorsville for many years. We have memories of Darleen strolling her grandchildren past our house on many occasions. She would stop and visit with whomever was in the front yard. Her smile and friendliness was something we will always remember. She was such a beautiful, gracious example of what the Savior and our Heavenly Father would like all of us to be. We love her daughter, Jana, and Jana's husband Kenny and their family very much. They are dear friends of ours. We pray for comfort and peace in the hearts of Darleen's family members. May God bless you all.
