Darrell Orson Jacobsen, 77, of Sandy, Utah, passed away from respiratory complications on October 26th, 2023. Darrell was born on June 14th, 1946 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Eva M. Johnson and Orson H Jacobsen. Darrell graduated from Granite High School in June of 1964.

Darrell enlisted in the United States Marine Corps after high school, during that time he served in the Vietnam war. After returning home from the war, Darrell married the love of his life and long time best friend Patricia on October 21st, 1967. Darrell also later served in the National Guard and the Army Reserve.

Darrell worked for Salt Lake County as a diesel mechanic for 35 years, before he retired in 2008.

Darrell was a devoted father to his four children Trisha, Chris, Wendy, and Misty. He later took on the parenting role again when he and his wife took in their young grandchildren Jon, Tish, and Linde.

Darrell will be remembered for his hardworking personality, the love he had for his country, religion, and family and most importantly, his dogs. His family meant everything to him and he spent a lot of time caring for his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Darrell is survived by his daughters Trisha Vargas (Ramon), Tish Crawmer (Brian), Linde Minkel (Chris); son, Jon Jacobsen (Michelle); brother, Randy Jacobsen (Michelle); sisters, Jeannette Irvine-Fullmer (Bob), Carol Jacobsen, Donna Orgill (Dan); many grandchildren, and great grandchildren; many nieces, and nephews, all of whom he loved deeply. He is preceded in death by his parents Eva and Orson Jacobsen; his wife, Patricia Jacobsen; his son, Chris Jacobsen; daughters, Misty Jacobsen and Wendy Jacobsen.

Darrell had a lot of gratitude for his brother Randy, daughter Linde, grandchildren Anthony and Mariah; who helped care for him during his final stages of life as he battled cancer.

Graveside funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday November 8th, 2023, at Larkin sunset lawn, 2350 E 1300 S Salt Lake City, Utah 84108
