On April 30, 2024, David Carl Bastian died at home peacefully with his daughter by his side in Salt Lake City / Millcreek, Utah. He was 69 years old.
David is survived by his daughter Caressa Rae Bastian of Hermiston, Oregon (Gary Foust) and her children Jerynn Spencer, Saydee Spencer and Cole Spencer; and his siblings Denise Mugleston (Robert II, deceased) and Delyn Haaga (Bruce).
David is preceded in death by his parents Carl Elwood and Beverly June Bastian; his children Jeryn David and Chace James Bastian; nephew Robert Mugleston III and many grandparents, aunts and uncles.
David Carl Bastian was born on February 18, 1955, in Salt Lake City, Utah. He was the oldest of Three. David participated in Scouts as a young boy and graduated from South High after he went to school briefly for auto mechanics, but found his real love was to sell them. He started his auto sales, and then finance side in the 80’s, receiving many awards. Tragically that ended with a horrible motorcycle accident that left him somewhat disabled. David then took up the love of fishing, riding his ‘84 3-wheeler and camping with friends and his son, Chace. David is known for his love of music and collections of fishing poles, Chevy and fishing shirts, and 501 Levi’s. David was able to live, travel, and then take care of his parents. He was a great father and grandfather, and we only wish we had more time.
