David Christian Flygare, a man of many talents, left this world on May 26th, 2023, at the age of 81 in Everett, Washington, with family by his side. His life was a tapestry of experiences, woven with threads of creativity, dedication, and love.

David was born on September 7th, 1941, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Ralph Woodruff Flygare and Constance Sophia Miller. He graduated from West High School in Salt Lake City, UT, in 1959. He pursued his higher education, taking multiple courses at Brigham Young University throughout his life.

David was a man of faith and devotion. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served a mission to Stockholm, Sweden. His love for his religion was a priority for him, and it gave him great strength to overcome adversities he faced in life.

David's dedication was not limited to academics. He was a man of many passions, with an absolute love for aviation and all things related to flight. From a young age, David was determined to take to the skies, and he dedicated his life to this dream. He also enjoyed sailing on his sailboat "Mo'orea" and traveling to Hawaii as he loved the beauty of the islands and especially the exotic flowers.

In August 1963, David joined the Utah Air National Guard, serving his country with honor and distinction for six years as KC-97 Crew Chief, completing his service at the rank of Staff Sergeant.

In November 1963, David married JoAnn Dee Sharp in the Idaho Falls temple. Together, they raised 6 children. They lived all over the Pacific Northwest with a few years in Montana and Utah. They eventually settled down in Redmond, Washington. They were later divorced after 28 years of marriage.

David's career was just as varied as his interests. He worked in sales, teaching, and numerous aviation specialties, always seeking new challenges and opportunities. He worked for blimp and helicopter companies, designing specialty camera systems and his talent for CAD systems was unmatched. He was also a glider instructor for many years, teaching students the fundamentals of flight.

David’s greatest joy in life was his family. He is survived by his children: Paul Flygare of Monroe, WA, Alan Flygare of Port Orchard, WA, Alys Hobbs (Max Hobbs) of Stansbury Park, UT, Brian Flygare of American Fork, UT, Mark Flygare (Conalee Flygare) of Burley, ID, David E. Flygare (Jeanine Flygare) of Herriman, UT, and his sister, Carole Davidson of St. George, UT. He is also survived by 20 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
David was preceded in death by his parents, his son David Ralph Flygare, his brothers Ralph Flygare and Grant Flygare, and his sisters Althea Hall, Mary Gillette, and Jill Hennessey.

He contributed much in life and will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.
