Listen to Obituary

With incredible strength, grace, and unwavering courage, David Clinton Lingwall, returned to his loving Heavenly Father after bravely facing a 10-year battle with Sarcoidosis while surviving two liver transplants. Dave, age 45, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loved ones on April 23, 2025.

Dave was born on May 24, 1979, in Murray, Utah, to Terry & Margot Lingwall. Dave was a faithful son, adoring husband to his sweetheart, Mariah, fun and caring father, and friend to everyone.

Dave and his four brothers had a childhood filled with misadventures in the gully, running the neighborhood with friends, and spending time with family in China Meadows in the Uintah mountains making many fond memories camping and fishing. Dave served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in the Cherry Hill, New Jersey Mission and loved sharing his testimony with others in word and example. Dave met the love of his life, Mariah, and was sealed for time and eternity in the Bountiful, Utah temple on December 30, 2004. Together, Dave and Mariah have three amazing sons, Boston, Griffin, and Ledger. Dave was immensely proud and supportive of his boys and their many accomplishments. Dave loved teaching them woodworking, working on cars, and going on adventures hiking and camping.

Dave worked for Zions Bank Corporation for the last 20 years. He loved his job and the people he worked with. Dave was especially skilled at creating masterful spreadsheets for work, home, and his many side businesses. Dave was a man of many talents and always ambitious to start a new project. He mastered skills such as woodworking, creating chalkboards, calendars, benches, and other furniture. He loved pottery, welded art, body-butter, homemade soap and bath bombs, jewelry, candle-making, and cotton candy. He perfected his pie crusts and made the best banana cream pies.

Endless market research and taste-testing led to artesian lemonades and flavored popcorn that was appreciated by family, friends, and neighbors alike. Dave turned many of these specialties into family businesses and made memorable summers for the family full of adventures running booths at farmers markets. He used these as learning opportunities for his boys, passing along a strong work ethic, honesty, and creativity.

Dave had a gift of lightheartedness and always had a joke to share with impeccable timing! He was an eternal optimist. Through it all, he stayed positive and never complained about the trials he faced. He will forever be an example of patience, kindness, and perseverance.

Dave is survived by his wife, Mariah, children, Boston, Griffin, and Ledger, mother, Margot Lingwall and four brothers, Bart (Danielle) Lingwall, Adam (Jennifer) Lingwall, Jacob Lingwall, and James Lingwall. He was preceded in death by his father, Terry Lee Lingwall.

Dave and his family will forever be grateful to the two liver donors who gave the priceless gift of life. The time this gave him to be with his wife and sons will never be forgotten.

Mariah and the entire family would like to especially thank the Intermountain Healthcare transplant team and the T-10 nursing staff. Dave was skillfully and lovingly cared for by many doctors, nurses and CNA’s who not only gave top-notch care, but developed deep and loving relationships. They did not just do their job; they were the superheroes who carried Dave and his family through it all!

Services will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 26, 2025 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints meetinghouse on 1280 East Turquoise Way, Sandy, UT 84094. I have so many fond memories of working with Dave at Zions. Although it was many years ago, he was one of the best co-workers I have ever had. His kind spirit and humor helped me through some difficult times of my own. I remember how much he adored his wife, and often participated in helping the family sell jalapeño jam at farmer’s markets. I know he will be dearly missed. Sending all my love to the family.

Dave was such an incredible person, one of those rare exceptions to the world. I got to know Dave and his amazing family during his first transplant where he made a quick transition. When he came back for the 2nd time I was so grateful to get to be apart of his journey for the 2nd time. Dave never complained and I remember at Christmas time he and I brain storming how he could recognize his wife from his hospital bed. There are so many vivid memories of time he and I created. I was truly honored to be his nurse and I simply wish the outcome would have turned out better. 5 days ago was the last time we would talk and I just wish it was under better circumstances. May god bring your family comfort during this awful time of mourning and may you fly high. God speed dear friend!
