It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Dawna May Holm, who left us on January 21, 2025, at the age of 61. Dawna was a beloved daughter, sister, aunt, and cherished friend.
Born on February 26, 1963, Dawna was the daughter of Donald Holm and Elaine Behunin. She was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents. She is survived by her sibling Steve Holm (Desarae) and by her life long friend, Teresa Brunt, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Dawna spent over 40 years as a dedicated central processing technician, earning the affectionate nickname “Dawnasaurus” for her vast knowledge of surgical instruments and supplies. Her expertise and commitment to her work earned her the respect and admiration of her colleagues.
Known for her quick wit, infectious sense of humor, Dawna brought joy to everyone around her. She was a passionate NASCAR fan, a devoted supporter of the Dallas Cowboys, and an avid follower of the Utah Jazz. Dawna loved rock music, and She loved her beloved Bronco.
Although Dawna did not have children of her own, she was a second mother to Lynsie, Annalee, William, and Andrew.
Viewing will be held Thursday January 30 from 6-8 PM at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 E 10600 S in Sandy. A celebration of Dawna’s life will be held on January 31 at 11:00 AM with a viewing prior to the service at 10-10:45 AM at the same address. Burial will be at Larkin Sunset Gardens Cemetery.
In honor of her love for the never meeting a tee shirt she did not like; please feel free to wear racing, sports or concert tee or a tee shirt to both services.
Guestbook/Condolences
Many times we asked Dawna to go and check on Vern after no answer on the phone. "What if I find him in the sauna..shriveled up like a prune?" "What if he's in the hot tub..drowned?" Yet over she went and always found him..just fine. She was a fun staple at family parties. How we loved her wit and sense of humor! We share in your sadness but also rejoice in the memories. "CTR"..choose to rebel!
Was able to connect with Dawna in 2018.
It was great being able to ping her through messenger after not seeing her our grandfather's funeral. Our last words were Merry Christmas last December
Steve, Des,
Sending our love to you at this time and always.
Dave
I look at Dawna's picture and remember her wonderfully, fun personality. I worked a long side of her for years and I think she made our work atmosphere a whole lot of fun. I loved laughing with her and her quick wit was amazing. Beautiful Dawna, a heart of love. My condolences to her brother & family, and especially to Teresa, she loved you all.
