I just heard the sad news of Dean's passing. Dean was a great friend of mine. He was the first person to greet me as the new kid in town at Memphis High School. I will always remember him walking up the bleachers in the gym to greet me and make me feel comfortable during assembly that first day.

Recently we reconnected and reminisced about the good old days and celebrated his son Van's HS graduation and advancement to college football. Dean was super proud of Van and Hannah and their many achievements. He loved his sisters very much too. I will miss him dearly and always remember his vitality for life. He lived it well. Godspeed my friend.

I just learning of Deanโ€™s passing and Iโ€™m in shock. We lost touch a couple years ago, although I kept trying to reach him. He and I met when I was 18 and became instant friends. He was a great protector for me and a great friend. I miss our long talks about nothing and everything. He was such a proud parent. I loved watching him change from crazy single guy to devoted husband and father. Being a parent was always his dream. Two amazing kids that will have an angel looking on them forever. Rest well Deano.
