DeAnn Clinger Williams, age 84, passed away surrounded by family on March 8, 2024. She was born on July 18, 1939, to Morris M Clinger and Louise Spafford in Provo, Utah.

She is survived by her husband, Gad L. Williams; her children, Elizabeth (Paul) Tucker, Rebecca (Bill) Sinclair, and Daniel Williams; 14 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Her sisters, Carolyn McBride, Janice Hurst, and son Alan Williams preceded her in death.

DeAnn graduated from Provo High School and attended BYU, studying the art of Science and Home Management. In 1962, she married her sweetheart, Gad Williams. She worked as a secretary at Geneva Steel Works near Lake View, Utah, until Gad completed his university education.

DeAnn was a lifelong active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and always held a calling in her adult life. She served lovingly and willingly.

DeAnn loved being a mother, aunt, and grandmother. Her family was her priority. She was a friend to all and enjoyed entertaining family and friends in her home. DeAnn never forgot a birthday, planning her card distribution at least a year in advance. Everyone appreciated DeAnn's love of knitting, with exclamations of "Grandma Rags" at Christmas.

DeAnn also enjoyed sewing. She created many outfits and dresses for her grandchildren. Her granddaughters cherished receiving these homemade items and didn't want to wash them because they had grandma's scent. DeAnn passed her love of cooking to her children and grandchildren. Cookie and cupcake decorating with grandkids was an activity she loved to organize, bestowing them with the tools to provide wholesome meals and treats for their families. DeAnn always supported her children, taking them to piano lessons, roadshows, soccer, baseball, and softball games and practices. It was tradition to make and lovingly distribute Toffee to her neighbors during the holidays.

DeAnn built her life on a solid foundation that gave her children a place from which to launch and a haven to return for solace and comfort.

My deepest sympathy to all of DeAnn's family. I met DeAnn when she joined our Tai Chi class a few years ago. I liked her immediately. What a sweet, caring friend she became to all of the class. She was determined to do all of the exercises and did a great job. I never heard her complain about anything. She had a positive attitude and was always so kind. I was especially impressed with the kind, loving care she got from her husband. It touched my heart to see how he treated his sweet wife. DeAnn will be missed. I feel blessed to have known her in this life. My thoughts and prayers are with her family.

To Gad and family, I was so sorry to hear our sweet DeAnn had passed and offer you my deepest heartfelt sympathy during this difficult time. We shared a lot of good memories with the Clinger family, and especially with DeAnn. I was not able to attend the funeral in person but did watch it on Zoom. My thoughts and love are with you. Kay S.
