    Debra Taft Brogger passed away in Provo, Utah on January 21, 2022 of complication from the Covid-19 virus. She was born December 19, 1965 in Murray, Utah a daughter of Don S. Taft Jr. and Shirley King (Taft) Hanscom. She moved to Richfield from Cottonwood Heights when she was five. She attended schools in Richfield and Monroe.

    Debra suffered from an inherited disorder that affected her whole body, leaving her legally blind. Just before her death, Debra was attempting to improve her eyesight enough to get another cornea transplant.

    Debra married Luke John Brogger in Holladay, Utah on October 15, 1987. Luke and Debra had one daughter, Crystle Marie Brogger. There were later divorced. She married David Apodoca Lucero in Strawberry, Arizona on December 10, 1994. Debra spent many years with her good friend and companion. Mervyn Don Chief Eagle. He preceded her in death on December 3, 2018.

    Debra loved her dog Maddie, eating out, traveling, dancing, camping and holidays with her family. She was very generous, and would give her last dollar to help a friend. She could always laugh and find the good in everyone and every situation. Debra was very proud of her daughter and grandsons. She bragged about them to everyone she saw, even complete strangers. Debra has always been a fighter from the beginning to her very last breath.

    Debra is survived by her daughter Crystle Marie Brogger; grandsons David Peters and Corrion (CJ) Nelson; mother Shirley Hanscom; half sisters and brothers Nikki Ekenstam, Jake Taft, Jennifer Lawrence, Sarah-Jane Martin, Patrick Taft; stepsister Hillary Hanscom.
    She is preceded in death by her father Don S. Taft, Jr.; brother Roger Taft, grandparents Don S. Taft, Sr., Patricia Burke Taft, Hugh V. King, and Fern Pace King.

    Graveside services will be held January 20, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 E. Dimple Dell Rd, Sandy, UT. A private family viewing will be held from 9:00 to 10:45 AM.
