Dennis Danny Shimizu, age 67, beloved father, brother, grandfather and friend, passed away on Friday May 5, 2023. He was born on February 20, 1956, in Salt Lake City, Utah to Danny and Lois Shimizu.
He graduated from West High School and married the love of his life, Ann Rose, whom he was married to for 40 years. Dennis worked with his family to build a successful company in the trucking industry. He was a very talented mechanic and loved working on trucks and cars in his spare time. Dennis was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and loved his Heavenly Father. Dennis was always willing to help a family member or friend in need.
He will be remembered for his kindness and generosity to all those who knew him. He will be deeply missed, but never forgotten.
He is survived by his children, Danny Shimizu; Melissa Shimizu (Jeff Dent); Melanie Shimizu; his grandchildren, Shelesa; Makayla, and Sumio. He is also survived by his siblings; Doug (Lynda) Shimizu, Denise (Tom) Russell, and Doreen (Blaine) Bird. Dennis is preceded in death by his wife Ann Rose; his parents, Danny and Lois Shimizu.
A viewing will be held on Saturday, May 20, from 11:00-12:45 at Larkin Mortuary, 260 E. South Temple, Salt Lake City. Interment to follow at the Salt Lake City Cemetery, 4th Avenue and N Street.
