Lois Veon Ramseyer

1945 ~ 2017

Lois Veon Ramseyer, 71, of Salt Lake City, beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and friend passed away peacefully from this world surrounded by family to rejoin her husband, parents and 3 sisters on April 17, 2017. She was the fourth of six children born to Noral and Meda Potter on November 6, 1945, in Salt Lake City. She met her sweetheart, Trent Ramseyer in 1968, they married and raised a family of three children.

Throughout her life, Lois enjoyed sports, travel, knitting and crocheting for her family, but mostly she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Lois took exceptional joy in her days tending her great granddaughter, her Claire-bear. She was the most kind, selfless, compassionate, determined woman and always put others before herself. Her family home was a constant refuge to anyone in need and she tended to many family members through their sicknesses and death there. She demonstrated her strength to us all by surviving her first bout with cancer in 2009 and being cancer free for 6 Ω years.

Our great sorrow with the loss of our mom is overshadowed by our joy in knowing she is with our dad, Trent, and many other family and friends that were waiting for her on the other side.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Trent, in 2011, her parents, and 3 sisters. Lois is survived by her three children: Verlene Abercrombie, Sherry (Jeff) Gonzales, Michael (Naomi) Ramseyer; eight grandchildren: Tricia (Daniel) Espada, Kevin Abercrombie, Mark and Malissa Gonzales, Alexis, Timothy, Taylor and Megan Ramseyer.; four great grandchildren: Amelia and Trent Espada, Claire Haworth, and Charlotte Hurley; and two sisters: Janice Brundle and LoaJean Tolman.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, April 22, 2017, at 3:00 pm at her home, located at 1335 E 3930 S, Salt Lake City, UT.
