It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Diana Lee Hancock on January 25, 2025. Lee was born at home in Salt Lake City, on July 10, 1948 to Warren and Betty Mitchell. The family moved to Murray when she was 13. Growing up, it was a rough and tumble household with four brothers and she quickly learned how to hold her own. She graduated from Murray High School in 1966, where she enjoyed being a Majorette in the marching band.
Lee married the love of her life, Lee K. Hancock in 1977. Together they raised five children from their home in Sandy while running their autobody business in West Valley for 20 years. Upon retirement they moved to Soldier Creek and lived in the cabin they built together for 15 years.
Lee is preceded in death by her parents, as well as her brothers, Gene, Danny, Lynn, and Tom. She is survived by her husband, Lee K. Hancock, daughters Athena Pangos, Michelle (Gaddiel) Rivera, Nikki (David) Gala, Starlene (Joe) Todd, and son, Kristopher Hancock, as well as 10 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
Lee lived a wonderful life, full of family and friends. She was fun loving with a big personality, and was known for telling a good story. She enjoyed crocheting, crafting and loved the outdoors. She loved camping, fishing, and snowmobiling. Although she will be deeply missed, her memory will live in our hearts forever.
A visitation will be held for Lee on January 30, 2025 at 2:00 pm at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 E 10600 S, Sandy, UT 84092. A graveside service will follow the visitation at 3:00 pm at Larkin Sunset Gardens Cemetery at the same address.
Memorial donations may be made to the Huntsman Cancer Center in Lee's honor using the following link.
