Diane Hussey Cole

Diane Hussey Cole was born on March 16, 1957 to Bonnie and Joseph Hussey in Murray UT. She passed away peacefully at Jordan Valley Hospital on August 13, 2021. She was preceded in death by her father Joseph, son-in-law Kevin, niece Heather and grandson Jeremy.

Diane was the third of nine children. Kenneth (Wendy), Barbara (Brian), Linda (Craig), Ray (Nancy), Robert (Tana), Brenda (Mari Ann), Lee, and Matthew (Mindy). She had four children Cynthia (Kevin), Charles (Elizabeth), John (Cristel), and Kati (Matthew). She has 13 grandchildren Jaylynn, Emilee, Shaun, Jacob Justin, Nathan, Lucy, Audrey, Keeton, Jeremy, Pacian, Donavan and Samantha. She has several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews whom she loved with all her heart.

Diane graduated from Bingham High School in the class of 1975. In 1993 she received her Associates Degree in Architectural Science from Salt Lake Community College. She held a variety of positions from Office Manager to Accounting Assistant.

Diane was known as the “giving neighbor.” She would often make treats and pass them out to all her neighbors. She was known for befriending new neighbors when they moved in. She always wanted to make sure that newcomers knew they had a friend in the neighborhood. She enjoyed making pot holders, dish scrubbies and quilts for anyone that wanted them. She would often make and donate quilts, blankets and beenies for Primary Children’s Hospital.

Diane was known for her volunteer services throughout her life. She enjoyed every minute of the time she spent at the Bishop’s Storehouse in Magna, UT. She would often show up every Saturday morning with donuts in hand for all the fellow volunteers. She would help out with craft projects for girls camp, setting up and cleaning for church parties, organizing and volunteering at quilting bees and making deserts for firesides. You could always find her supervising the kitchens at weddings and funerals for friends and family.

One of Dianes greatest joy in life was her grandkids. She would spoil them with blankets, cookies, candy and kisses every chance she got. She enjoyed showing off pictures of them to everyone she met.

Diane loved to garden and was part of several community gardens. She would pass out all the extra produce she grew to everyone she could.

Diane loved to be social and could talk for hours even if it was just to listen.

Diane had a love of reading which did not stop when she lost most of her eye site. It was common for her to have a book on tape playing while she cleaned or worked on crafts.

On behalf of her children, we would like to thank the medical professionals at Pioneer Valley, Jordan Valley, St Joseph’s Villa and Rocky Mountain Care Center for all the medical care she received. We would also like to specifically thank her friend Linda, the members of the Spencer 4th Ward, and all the other wonderful neighbors for the care, love and friendship they gave our mother.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 20th at 11:00 AM at the LDS Ward House at 8181 Breeze Dr., Magna, UT 8404. There will be a viewing from 9:30 to 10:45 AM for all those who would like to come. She will be laid to rest at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 E. Dimple Dell Rd. (10600 S.) Sandy, UT 84092 immediately following the funeral services.
