Dixie Lee Lawrence, born May 3, 1978 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Mike and Jodie Lawrence, passed away on April 4, 2026 after a lifelong battle with a congenital heart condition.
Dixie grew up in Taylorsville, Utah, and graduated from Cottonwood High School in 1996.
She loved crafts, shopping, going to movies, camping, and traveling - especially cruises and anywhere else she could go. More than anything, she loved being around her family, especially her fur babies.
Dixie spent much of her life serving others. She volunteered for many years at Camp Hawkins, a camp for children with heart conditions, where she helped with crafts and tie-dye activities. She also volunteered at Pioneer Valley Hospital, working at the front desk for nearly 13 years, where she built lasting friendships, many who were decades older than her.
She worked for a short time at ZCMI with her dad and sister.
Dixie was known for her love of the “three P’s”: purple, Pepsi, and puppies.
She is survived by her parents, Jodie Lawrence and Mike Lawrence (Kathie Lawrence); her sisters, Cindy Lawrence (Tim) and Amy Appleton (Joe); her step-siblings, Amberlie, Michelle, Natalie, and Kyle; her nieces and nephews, Ashley (Austin), Jordan, Hailey (Tyler), Tyler (Julia), Jayden, and Kayson; her great-nieces and nephews, Carter, Taylor, and River; her grandmother Sharon; her aunt Kellie; and her beloved dogs, Lila, Bentley, and Gracie.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, several aunts and uncles, and her cherished dogs, Tobie, Riley, and Sophie.
She was a heart warrior in every sense, and her absence will be felt by so many whose lives she touched. We love you Dixie.
In honor of Dixie, guests are invited to wear any shade of purple to her services, her favorite color.
