Barbara Jean Woolley Hamilton

1936 ~ 2015

Barbara Hamilton passed away peacefully on June 6, 2015. Barbara was born on October 4, 1936 in Ogden, Utah to Edwin Royal Woolley and Maude Henrietta Gentry. She attended East High and the University of Utah. She married her high school sweetheart, W. Kerm Hamilton on November 21, 1955 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She is the mother of seven children, a grandmother and great-grandmother.

Barbara loved spending time with family and friends. Her husband's career took her to many states, but Alaska was considered home. Along with her family she was an active member of the LDS church and enjoyed serving and sharing her many talents; particularly as organist, chorister, choir director, primary music leader, visiting teacher, and serving in the temple. She also served a mission with her husband in the Nauvoo, Illinois mission, from 2003 - 2005.

Barbara enjoyed many activities and hobbies including sewing, quilting, painting, composing and arranging music, singing, ceramics, pottery, and gardening.

Barbara is survived by her husband of 59 years, Kerm; children, Tami Malan (Mike), Lindi Clark (Steve), Marci Clawson (Ron), Weston (Teresia), Blake (Lorena), Brad (Corri), and Neal (Amanda); siblings, Marilyn Enz, Edloe Slade, Virginia Eddington, Ted Woolley, Doug Woolley, 31 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; lifelong friends Anita and Kenny Ashby. She is preceded in death by her parents.

Services will be held Wed. June 10, 2015, 11 am at the LDS Pepperwood Chapel, 2195 E. Pepperwood Dr. Viewings: Tues. June 9th, 6 - 8 pm at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 E. Dimple Dell Road and Wed. June 10th, 10:00 to 10:45 at the church. Interment: Larkin Sunset Gardens.
