Mark Brenchley Leishman

1930 ~ 2015

Our hero is now our guardian angel. Our amazing husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather passed away at home surrounded by loved ones on September 4, 2015 as a result of dementia.

He was born on January 27, 1930 in Salt Lake City, UT to Mark Brenchley Leishman, Sr and Florence Vernetta Cragun. He is the oldest brother to Lowell and Gary.

He is survived by his high school sweetheart, Marilyn Jeanne Pugh, who became his wife on August 23, 1949 and were later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple. Together they had seven children, Kim (Helga) Leishman, Craig (Joyce) Leishman, Paul Leishman, Mary (David) Jackman, Julia (Larry) Kienke, Christine (David) Woodmansee, Alan Leishman. Then they were blessed with 24 beautiful grandchildren who then gave them 43 wonderful great-grandchildren and he adored them all.

"Brent" was accomplished in many areas. He was an amazing machinist who went on to own a business along with partner Delton Bettridge. He was a trainman, music lover, bird enthusiast and had many interests through the years, but his greatest love was his family. He is loved by many and he loved many. He loved strong and laughed loud.

He is a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints wherein he held many positions but most of all loved being a temple worker.

He was preceded in death by his parents, mother and father-in-law, Vernon and Martha Pugh, brother Gary Leishman, son Paul, and two great grandchildren.

The family will receive visitors on Thursday, September 10, 2015 from 6-8 pm at the LDS Meetinghouse located at 1825 South 800 East, Bountiful, UT. Funeral services will on Friday, September 11, 2015 at 11:00 am at the same address. Visitors will be received prior to the funeral services at 10:00-10:45 am.

Thank you for showing us through example that it is possible to live as God has asked us to do. We pray your mansion in Heaven will have circling trains on a track with surround sound speakers blasting your favorite symphony.

The family would like to thank Tender Care Hospice and the wonderful care he received by his caregivers.

His family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the LDS Humanitarian Aid Fund.
