With his earthly missions accomplished, Donald Albrecht, son of Arthur Albrecht & Zena (Kellogg), was called home and reunited with his family in heaven on February 10, 2025 – just 4 days after his 84th birthday.

Don, also affectionately known as “Skip” to many, was born in Boise Idaho, and spent his first 10 years in Pendleton, Oregon. The family moved to Portland, Oregon in 1951 where Don graduated from Jefferson High School in 1959. He enlisted in the Army June 15, 1959, proudly serving his country until his honorable discharge May 31, 1965.

He joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints on December 24, 1966, and always said it was the best decision he ever made. He served in many positions within the church, including Bishop of the Astoria 2nd Ward (Oregon) and Stake Patriarch of the Eagle Mountain Utah West Stake.

Soon after joining the church, he moved to Astoria Oregon to take classes at Clatsop Community College. This is where he met Lora Lee Stout. They were married and sealed in the Idaho Falls Temple October 22, 1968. Shortly after, he worked briefly for Crown Zellerbach and Willamette Industries which eventually led him to his career with the Oregon State Forestry Department beginning in 1972, retiring in 1999.

Living in Astoria for 35 years allowed Don many opportunities to serve in his community – including as a reserve police officer and coaching kids sports teams. He absolutely LOVED fishing, hunting, camping and exploring countless miles of logging roads. However, his most enduring legacy was raising 7 children with Lora in a country setting outside the Astoria city limits, and instilling in them a love of nature, as well as a deep love of our Savior Jesus Christ.

Don is survived by his wife Lora, daughters Leah Burbidge (Clark), Lisa Cooper (Tom), son David Albrecht (Judy), daughters Emma Spring (Ian Roux) and Becky Albrecht, son Aaron Albrecht (Joy), 18 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents Arthur Albrecht and Zena Kellogg. Siblings Donna Stadther, Nora Stebbins, Barry Albrecht and Judy Albrecht, his daughter Ruth Ann Clark and grandchildren Joshua Clark and Lynlee Albrecht.

A viewing will be held Saturday, February 22, 2025 from 9:30 AM- 10:45 AM at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (4588 Eagle Mountain Blvd, Eagle Mountain, Utah), immediately followed by the funeral service at 11:00 AM. Interment will take place at Pony Express Memorial Cemetery (4648 N. Eagle Mountain Blvd, Eagle Mountain, Utah) at 1:00 PM.
