Donna Hansen

1932 ~ 2023

Our sweet mother Donna Hansen born Feb.1,1932, left us on July 24,2023 surrounded by her family. Sending her off to fly with the angels and to those that have been patiently waiting to see her again was bittersweet. She was preceded in death by her parents Raymond and Elizabeth Gunderson and siblings Ted, Lorraine and Maureen. She passed away at the age of 91, leaving behind her husband Spud Hansen of 72 years, whom she will dance with again. She loved her four children and their spouses fiercely. Linda and Ken, Greg and Karen, Mark and Becky, Patti and Jeff. She was hands down the best grandmother of all time to her grandchildren and their spouses who she loved as her own. Kyle and Nichole, Tarra, Sara and Shaun, Luke, David and Lindsey, Brian and Emily. She was blessed with being made a great grandmother and thought the world of each one of them. Baileigh, Ryder, Avery May, Connor, Charlotte, and two new spirits on their way.
Donna was so many things to each one of us and had a way of making you feel special. She loved her garden and sitting quietly with her morning coffee. She made a mean strawberry jam and could make miracles happen for every birthday or holiday no matter the sacrifice. She left this world a better place filled with sweet memories, lots of laughter and stories that we will talk about at every family gathering. Like that time the turkey slid across the kitchen floor on Thanksgiving Day. You are with us always and in our hearts until we meet again. We love you much!

A viewing will be held at 11:30 am on Saturday, July 29,2023 at Larkin Sunset Gardens 1950 E. 10600 S. Sandy UT. Flowers are welcome to be delivered to this location.

Graveside services will be held at 2 pm on Saturday, July 29,2023 at Murray City Cemetery, 5490 S Vine St, Murray,

Guestbook/Condolences

I am so sorry Uncle Spud, Linda, Greg, Mark, Patty, and Family members. Aunt Donna was the best, she was like a second mother to me. So many good memories with the family. She is with our family members that are in Heaven and I’m sure they are rejoicing to all be together. I love and will miss my Aunt Donna. I love you all.

What a lovely tribute to your beautiful, sweet mother. Sending love and hugs as I know how hard this must be for everyone.

What a wonderful Lady. Growing up as a teenager in Kearns Utah we spent many hours at the Hansen Home. Mrs. Hansen was always kind, funny, and always welcomed us in her home, even though we were rowdy teenagers. Rest in peace Mrs. Hansen.

Spud, Linda, Patty, Greg and Mark,

So sorry for your loss. I loved your Mom and Dad so much and have so many great memories of going to your cabin, birthday parties, making mud pies in your back yard. Your mom was like my 2nd mom. I know there is a big celebration and reunion up in Heaven and I’m sure there is lots of flowers and my mom and dad are standing there waiting in line to greet her. I pray for peace to be with each one of you. Love Jody
