In Loving Memory of Douglas Randall White

Douglas Randall White entered the loving care of his Heavenly Father on October 11, 2025, after succumbing to complications from surgery in August. Born on January 11, 1947, in Provo, Utah, Doug was the beloved son of Beverly and George Randall White. He spent most of his youth in Orem, Utah, where he laid the foundation for a life dedicated to service, family, and faith.

Early Life and Education

Doug attended Orem High School, where his passion for communication and sports blossomed. He served as a reporter for the school newspaper and kept the community informed by updating high school sports on the local radio station. His commitment to his faith led him to serve a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Mexico North Mission. Upon returning home, Doug pursued higher education at Brigham Young University, demonstrating a lifelong dedication to learning.

Family and Career

While working in the Boise, Idaho area for a math tutoring company, Doug met Eva Christine Anderson, who would become the love of his life. They were married in the Salt Lake Temple on September 17, 1971. Together, they started their journey as husband and wife, renting their first home and beginning their family in Bountiful, Utah. During this time, Doug worked as a collector for the Lockhart Company and later for Zion’s Bank.

In 1976, Doug and Eva purchased a home in West Valley City, Utah, where they continued to grow their family, eventually welcoming six sons and two daughters. Doug pursued further education, completing his accounting degree at the University of Utah and earning his CPA certification. He enjoyed a fulfilling career at Bonneville International Corporation until his retirement, cherishing the friendships and experiences he gained along the way.

Doug and Eva moved to West Jordan, Utah, in 2001, where they resided until Doug’s passing. Their home was always filled with love, laughter, and the spirit of togetherness.

Service and Faith

Doug’s devotion to his faith was evident throughout his life. He served his church in various callings, dedicating his time and talents to the youth, the Boy Scouts, and the young single adults. Doug’s leadership was recognized as he served as Bishop and in many bishoprics in the 13th/Cherrywood Ward in the Hunter South Stake. His influence touched countless lives, leaving a legacy of kindness, guidance, and unwavering faith.

Later in life, Doug experienced the joy of serving another mission with Eva and his daughter, Laura, working with the Westridge Academy in West Jordan, Utah. This opportunity allowed him to share his love, wisdom, and compassion with others, further exemplifying his commitment to service and community.

Legacy

Doug will be remembered for his gentle spirit, his dedication to family and faith, and his unwavering commitment to helping others. He will always be remembered for his copious notetaking and his ability to remember personal details about everyone he met. He had a gift for making everyone feel important. His legacy lives on in the hearts of his beloved wife, Eva, his children, grandchildren, and all who were blessed to know him. Doug’s life was a testament to the power of love, service, and faith, and he will be deeply missed by all.

Doug is preceded in death by his mother and father, Beverly and G. Randall White, and his younger brother, Kenneth. He is survived by his wife, Eva White, his children, Greg (Angie), Scott, Brian (Emily), Danny (RaeLynn), Brad (McCall), Jeff (Haleigh), Laura, and Amy Roisum (Jacob), and many grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings, Judith Pomeroy (Marion), Kathi Williams (Bruce), Chris (Nadia), and Tammi Velasquez (Serge).

The family wishes to express their gratitude for the outpouring of love and support during this difficult time. Doug’s memory will forever be cherished, and his example will continue to inspire those who follow in his footsteps.

Services

A viewing will be held on Friday, October 17, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Prairie 13th Ward Building, 7337 S Regal Hill Drive, West Jordan, UT 84081. A second viewing will take place at the same location on Saturday, October 18, from 9:30 to 10:30 AM with the funeral to follow at 11:00 AM. The funeral will be livestreamed via Zoom and can be accessed by clicking the "Watch Services" button above. Interment will follow immediately after services at West Jordan City Cemetery.

Bishop White was such a kind and gentle soul. I am grateful I had the opportunity to serve as his counselor. He taught me how to righteously serve as a priesthood holder. He will forever be remembered by Sheri and I for his patience, kindness, and love. He and Eva raised a legendary family who will bring honor to their commitment to the Savior for generations to come.

Doug White was a Christ-Like individual and his death surprises me. Though his passing catches me off guard, his life was one of caring and total regard for the individual. I know, as I was the subject of one of those political issues at our employment where integrity was a question . Doug knew the facts of the matter and vouched for the truth, bless him for this act of credibility .I hired Doug White and found him to be a dependable and hard worker. He could always be found researching issues that required such and was more than timely with his work. God bless our world with men like Doug.

Hello White family.
Im sorry this has taken so long to get to.
1st of all...... THANK YOU for making me laugh SO MUCH during Doug's funeral! I seriously do not think I have ever laughed that much at a funeral, EVER!! I got to know this sweet man I would see at church occasionally, or the man walking to get mail, but I never had a chance to 'really' get to know him. I so much enjoyed all of the stories and memories that were shared.
2- There were some flowers left in the chapel. The next day when I walked through the chapel, the room smelt amazing! Thank you for sharing them with all of us who attended the building.
Sending my love to all!!
