Douglas Roberts Price, age 84, passed away peacefully on August 13, 2025, surrounded by his beloved family. Born on October 2, 1940, Doug lived a full, joyful life defined by love, laughter, and deep connections with everyone he met.
Doug and the love of his life, Kaye, shared 54 wonderful years together — a true partnership filled with devotion, adventure, and unwavering support. Some of his best moments were spent with his children — Teresa Galloway (Glen), Bob Price (Jenny), Dana Price (Cassandra), Sandy Severance, and April Merrell (Terry) — his 27 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, and his 5 cherished siblings. Doug loved fishing, especially when it meant time with his family — and of course, with Kaye by his side.
He was a man of many passions. Doug loved to travel and explore new places, but his favorite destination was always Mexico. He found joy in music of all kinds, had a deep love and respect for his parents and in-laws, and was a proud, devoted family man through and through.
Doug had a fearless, fun-loving spirit. A true daredevil, it was often joked that he had nine lives — and he lived each one with a sense of adventure and joy. He and Kaye shared a love of gardening, where he happily played the role of muscle to Kaye’s vision. Doug was a jack of all trades, known for his broad knowledge and willingness to help others learn and grow.
He believed deeply in the importance of family and set a powerful example for future generations, just as his parents had done for him. His mother once said, “Doug knows no stranger, they’re friends he hasn’t met yet” — a sentiment that perfectly captured the way he lived: open-hearted, welcoming, and genuinely interested in every person he encountered.
Doug’s family and friends will remember him as a man of strength, love, humor, and humility — a true light in their lives. His love and legacy will always live on in his family, and we know we will carry him with us in everything we do. And in Doug’s own words, “It’s been a great life.”
He was preceded in death by his fathers, Gordon Bobby Leroy Price and Robert Gordon Burton; his mother, Alice Roberts Price; and his son, Robert (Bob) Price.
