Obituary
Doyle Robert Judd entered mortality on November 3, 1944, in Coalville, Utah, as a son of goodly parents, Frank Vernon Judd and Velma E Stephens Judd. He left his mortal existence on November 6, 2026, in Lehi, Utah. His time on Earth was defined by his faith, family, and friends.
Doyle graduated from North Summit High School in Summit County, Utah. He attended Brigham Young University for two years and then served two years in the Mexico Mission of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Upon completion of his missionary service, he returned to BYU, where he met his forever bride, Linda Pack. They were sealed on January 24, 1969, in the Salt Lake Temple. He completed a Master of Accountancy degree at BYU, spent his professional career in accounting and finance, and remained a devout BYU fan throughout his life.
Four beautiful children—Denalee, Dayton, Kemery, and Mindy—joined their family in the first nine years of their marriage. Employment opportunities enabled the family to live in Arizona, Alaska, England, California, Colorado, and Utah. Work assignments, picking up children after their missions, and family vacations took them to many other places across the United States, South America, Mexico, several countries in Europe, and China.
His church callings included serving in bishoprics and on high councils. His most memorable callings included working with the young men while his sons were that age, teaching early morning seminary, and serving for five years in a young single adult ward alongside his beloved wife.
Doyle was a man of unwavering character whose integrity, kindness, and loyalty earned him the love and respect of those who knew him best. The friendships he maintained throughout his life were a testament to the remarkable man he was with many of these relationships beginning in college or before. These friends would lift and support him through the challenging times he faced.
In January 2009, Doyle survived a severe hemorrhagic stroke that left him hemiplegic, paralyzed on the right side of his body. This profoundly altered his mortal life. A few years later, he was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease, which further complicated his circumstances. In addition to being his wife, best friend, and confidant, Linda became his primary caregiver. Many dear friends, without being assigned or asked, recognized their needs and rendered countless hours of service.
Doyle is survived by his eternal companion, Linda; their children and spouses—Denalee Wilkinson (Jason), Dayton Judd (Jennifer), Kemery Judd (Clayton), and Mindy Pearson (Trent); and his 19 beloved grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings, Shanna J. Adkins and Frank K. Judd, as well as his Navajo sister, Pauline M. Sanchez, and their respective families. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Val S. Judd.
