Russell Maxrow Becker

Russell "Russ" Maxrow Becker, 73, reunited with God on August 22, 2016 in Sandy, Utah. Russ passed away peacefully at home in his sleep after a valiant and courageous battle with cancer. He was born December 8, 1942 in Loveland, Colorado to Joseph W. Becker and Dessie Becker Ball. Russ found the love of his life, Joyce, and they were married on February 23, 1971.

Russ had a very full and adventurous life. He spent his childhood in Colorado, California and Utah. He graduated from Concord High in California and received his Associates degree in drafting from Utah Technical College. Some of Russ' accomplishments include draftsman for the Alaskan Pipeline and U.S. Army Special Forces. Russ started and co-owned Ball Feed and Horse Supply with his parents Jack and Dessie Ball for 6 years. He continued to own and operate this business with his wife Joyce for 42 years. Russ and Joyce travelled extensively both nationally and internationally with their business and enjoyed the past 9 years of leisure travel together.

Russ is survived by his wife Joyce Torkelsen Becker, son John (Roshelle) Lucky, son Kevin Becker, granddaughter Amber Lucky, grandchildren Adrian and Alexis, brother Steve (Kristine) Ball, sister-in-law Karen Becker as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Russ was preceded in death by his son Eddie "Ed" Lucky, his sister, brother and parents.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 27, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 East Dimple Dell Road (10600 South) in Sandy. Friends may call on Friday, August 26thfrom 6:00-8:00 p.m. and on Saturday from 9:45-10:45 a.m. at the mortuary prior to services. Interment at Larkin Sunset Gardens Cemetery.
