Duane Jay White, 96, passed away September 2, 2021, in Riverton, Utah. Born as the fifth of eight children on October 14, 1924, in Richfield, Utah, Duane was a happy addition to the family of Robert Ira and Christena E. Blansett White.
After attending Richfield High School, Duane enlisted in the United States Navy where he would proudly serve during World War II from 1942 until 1945. Duane had a love of the outdoors. He gained a true appreciation for the many activities the wilderness had to offer. He especially loved fishing, camping and hunting. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and gained a true testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ.
The Christmas holiday season was one of his favorite times of year. He took such pride in his decorations! His special attention to detail and passion even earned him an award for his decorations.
Duane spent his professional career specializing in commercial advertising. He had a natural ability and excelled in his sales career earning many awards and special recognitions.
Duane is survived by many family and friends who will miss him dearly.
The family wishes to extend heartfelt appreciation to Brighton House Assisted Living, especially Bev, who took such loving care of Duane for over 10 years.
Graveside services to celebrate Duane will be held at 2PM on Tuesday, September 7, 2021, at Larkin Sunset Gardens Cemetery, 1950 E. Dimple Dell Road (10600 S.) in Sandy.
