Raymond H. Aldrich

1928 ~ 2018

Raymond H. Aldrich, 90, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family that loved and cherished him, on October 2, 2018. Ray was born in Brooklyn, New York on May 18, 1928 to Floyd and Anna Schuttert Aldrich and was raised in Queens. Ray attended City Polytechnic High School of Engineering, Architecture and Technology, and after serving in the US Army, he attended Brooklyn Polytech University, majoring in Chemical Engineering. He later attended Stanford University's Graduate School of Business Executive Program.

In 1952, Ray married Lillian Engelstadter and together they raised four children. In 1977, they relocated to Salt Lake City, where Ray later became the President of Eimco. His career took him all over the world and when he retired in 1995, he was the President of Baker Hughes Process Equipment Group. Although Ray and Lillian divorced, they remained life-long friends. Ray married Jane Shelton in 1985 and she preceded him in death in 2014.

Ray was a passionate sports fan and true to his New York roots, he loved the Giants, Rangers and Yankees. He also loved the Utah Jazz, golf, travel, dining out, the Wasatch mountains and spending time with his family.

Raymond is survived by his sister, Margaret Weber; his three children, Rich Aldrich, Karen Mancini (Enzo), and Bill Aldrich (Karol), all of whom took loving care of him in his last years; his four grandchildren who loved him dearly, and five precious great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his beloved daughter, Peggy Aldrich, and wife, Jane Aldrich.

The family would like to thank Dr. John Greenlee, the staff at Symbii Home Health and his nurse Sylvia, for their devoted and loving care of our Dad. Also, a special thanks to Alta Ridge Memory Care for their dedicated and tireless service throughout Ray's final years.

A memorial service will be held on October 27. Please contact a family member if you would like to join us in celebrating Ray's life.
