Gladys Evelyn Ellefsen Ratliff

1914 ~ 2018

Gladys Evelyn Ellefsen Ratliff, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and GG Grandmother passed away on ≠≠≠≠≠≠≠≠≠≠≠≠≠March 17, 2018 at age 103. She was born November 19, 1914 in Salt Lake City, Utah to James Ellefsen and Gudrun Froisland. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She married Frank W. Ratliff on October 5, 1935 and they were sealed for time and eternity in the Salt Lake Temple on February 17, 1965.

She is preceded in death by her husband Frank W. Ratliff, son Frank James Ratliff, grandsons Josiah Ratliff, and Frank James Ratliff Jr., and granddaughter Janet Ratliff Wilkins, brothers James and Clarence Ellefsen, and sisters Eleanor Ellefsen Dibble and Helen Ellefsen Griffiths.

She is survived by 3 children, daughter Peggy Ann Ratliff Ortiz, sons Fred W. Ratliff (Janis Smith). and Gary Lee Ratliff (Gabriele Sommerfeld).

She served faithfully in church callings including Primary President for 12 years. She and Frank served missions as temple workers and the Book of Mormon project. Together they served the community as life time members of Loyal Order of Moose #259

She loved Christmas and decorating for all the holidays. She lived most of her 103 years in the home where she was born.

A viewing for family and friends will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 28, 2018 at the Hunter 27th Ward LDS Meetinghouse, 4980 West 3285 South, West Valley City, Utah.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 29, 2018 with a viewing prior to funeral from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at the Hunter 27th Ward LDS Meetinghouse, 4980 West 3285 South, West Valley City, Utah.

Graveside service immediately after funeral at Elysian Gardens Cemetery, Murray, Salt Lake, Utah, 1075 East 4580 South.
