Colleen Button Crotty

1950 ~ 2015

Cottonwood Heights, UT—Colleen Button Crotty passed away peacefully on Friday November 13, 2015, from lung cancer. Colleen was born in Salt Lake City to Ruth Jackson Button and Robert F. Button on May 26, 1950. Colleen was very passionate of art, music, her family and friends. She cared deeply about kindness and love, truth and beauty. Colleen was a very spiritual person with a unique philosophy on life.

Colleen worked in the Graphic Arts business for many years; she was fortunate enough to retire and pursue her career as a fine artist. Colleen won many awards for her work. Colleen then put aside her art to be a full time Grandma to Cannon the most rewarding job of her life. She was heartbroken when she could not care for him anymore because of her illness.

Colleen is preceded in death by her Mother, Father, and Brother Robert G. Button, sister-in-law Diane Taylor Button, niece Debra Ruth Button.

She is survived by her husband of 42 years Bruce, daughter Wendy, son David Robert, his wife Tiffany, and her beloved grandson Cannon Cole Crotty, also her in-laws, nieces, nephews and many cherished friends.

Private interment services will take place in the Salt Lake City Cemetery on Monday, November 30, 2015. A celebration of Colleen's life will be held Sunday, December 6, 2015 at Old Mill Golf Course in the Clubhouse, 6080 Wasatch Blvd, from 1-4 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Utah Food Bank.
