Joseph David Smith, \"Joe\" passed away unexpectedly in Salt Lake City, Utah at the University of Utah Hospital on October 29, 2016 at the age of 63.
Joe is survived by his wife Cathy Smith; his son Lucas Smith (Maja Smith) of Colorado; his two daughters Nicole Anderson (Clint Anderson) of California, and Cory Gibbs (Jed Gibbs) of Utah; his two grandsons, two granddaughters, and two great-grandchildren.
Joe was born on October 18, 1953 in La Mesa, California to Joseph Carr Smith and Barbara Rae Oyler. He married the love of his life and high school sweetheart Cathy Lynn Eich on March 2, 1974.
Joe drove truck for 35 years. He loved fishing, laughing, and most of all enjoying time with his family and making memories. We would like to give a huge Thank You to the staff at the University of Utah Hospital for all they did for him during his time there while waiting for his double lung transplant.
The memorial service is scheduled for noon on November 5, 2016 at the Elsinore Ward Church located at 75 N Center Street, Elsinore, Utah. A luncheon will follow for friends and family, all are welcome to attend and celebrate Joe\s life. Flowers and condolences can be sent to 195 East 300 South, Monroe, Utah.
