Ruby Sweat Flitton

1923 ~ 2016

Our sweet, beloved wife, mother, sister, and grandmother, Ruby Flitton, age 92 returned to her heavenly home on April 6, 2016. Mom was born on November 19, 1923, in Center Creek, Wasatch, Utah to Orvel and Bertha Sweat. She was the sixth, of nine children. She loved her brothers and sisters dearly and felt blessed to have wonderful parents, who taught her by word and example.

She met her sweetheart, LeRoy (Roy) Thomas Flitton and they were married in the Salt Lake Temple on May 16th, 1945, for time and all eternity. Of her passing, Dad said, "Today, April 6th I lost my sweetheart of almost 71 years. She was a beautiful wife, and loving mother." She raised 5 children and has 22 grandchildren, 64 great grandchildren and 1 great, great grandson.

She was a seamstress throughout her life and enjoyed crocheting, quilting, painting and making other crafts. She worked at Beehive Clothing Mills for 25 years and loved her association with others. She was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many callings including Relief Society and Primary President. She and Dad fulfilled a Humanitarian Service mission to Hazard, Kentucky in 1992-94 and helped distribute clothing to those in need.

She set a great example and was a devoted wife and grandma, remembering birthdays with cards and 2-dollar bills. She loved being with her family and had her camera ready to capture family milestones. When visiting her, she would make sure we didn't go away hungry or empty-handed. She was the glue that held us all together and we will miss her greatly. "So long", dear Momma. "We love you!"

Special thanks to Envision Home Health and Hospice for their compassionate service to our Mom. Christina, Natalie, and Jessica, you're the best!

Survived by her loving husband; children, Kenneth (Laura, deceased) Flitton, Leona Palmer, Kathy (Terry) Facer, Scott (Mary) Flitton, Annette (Jon) Fasselin, 21 grandchildren, 63 great grandchildren, and 1 great, great grandson.
