Patricia Maree Crossman

1933 ~ 2015

Patricia Maree Crossman passed away on Friday, May 8, 2015 due to complications of Parkinson's disease.

Pat was born on November 12, 1933 in Ventura California. Her parents were Henry Leonard Casper and Maree Pearl Egnew Casper. She was the youngest of four children. She attended school in Ventura and married Oliver Logue Willoughby in November 1950. They had two children, Catherine Lynn and Nancy Jean. They later divorced, but remained friends for life.

In 1976, Pat married Lt. Col Ralph B. Crossman. They lived in Vista, California then later relocated to Salt Lake City. Pat and Ralph served a mission in Tokyo, Japan, and later on Temple Square. They lived happily until his death in 2005.

Our Mom and Grandma Pat led a charmed life. She was beautiful and in the early 1960's worked as a runway model in Beverly Hills. If someone bought what she modeled, (dresses, sweaters with fur collars or evening gowns) she was given that item also. She didn't make much money, but she was dressed very well. Later, she became a probate paralegal which she took pride in doing.

When Pat met Ralph, she obtained a HAM radio operator's license, at the time she held a record going from novice class to extra class in the shortest period of time. Pat's call letters were N6INN.

Words cannot describe how much she will be missed.

Pat is survived by her daughters Catherine Waddill (Al), Nancy Kendall (Robert), and Oliver Willoughby the girls father. She is also survived by grandchildren Eli Waddill (Saebra), Erin Waddill Norton, Lisa Kendall Lahey (Tim), Michael Kendall and Brian Gassner. Her great grandchildren are Jacob Norton, Amelia Waddill, Cooper Lahey and Lily Lahey. She also has a niece, Shelly Garrett, whom she loved dearly, and a brother, James Casper.

Pat is preceded in death by her husband Ralph, her parents, and two sisters, Madge and Enid. She is also preceded by her English Bulldog Ruby and her Lhasa Apso Oni.

There are so many people to thank for their kindness to our mom. Most of all Dr. RuthAnn Smith, her dearest and best friend. RuthAnn was by her side through thick and thin. And the staff at Atria of Sandy, where our mom resided the last five years, especially Augustine and Susan Leslie RN. They kept her comfortable and happy.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 13, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at the Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple Street, Salt Lake City, UT. A viewing will be held from 12:30 ‚ 1:45 p.m. prior to services at the mortuary. Burial will follow at the Salt Lake City Cemetery.
