Robin Rene Henderson, 63, beloved wife, mother, Nana, sister and friend, entered heaven, dancing her way into the arms of Jesus, on January 7, 2019.
Robin was preceded in death by her mother, Margaret Jewell Bugg (Judy), her father, Waldo Emerson Sauter, and by her dearly adored husband, Bruce. Robin is survived by her sister Michele (Sheller) Kay Hoeksema (Ron, Tyler, Ben and Hadlee) and her three sons, Matt (Jamie), Joey (Paige) and Willie. Robin was a proud "Nana" to her four grandchildren: Sadie, Audrey, Scottie and Silas.
A fountain of love and acceptance, Robin created many close, life-long friendships including those with Char Hone, and Lisa Criswell, whom she loved like a daughter. These friends will miss her hugs, companionship and laughter dearly. A lover of animals as well, her special dog Wesley will miss her presence.
Born on July 26, 1955 in Murray, Kentucky, the family soon moved to Michigan, the place Robin called "home." She graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School in 1973, and attended Gogebic Community College in Iron Mountain, Michigan. One day, while hitchhiking in pink bunny slippers, she met Bruce Henderson. The two would marry in 1976, and move to Utah shortly thereafter, where they would raise their three sons.
It is with sorrow and joy that we celebrate the life and loss of Robin, and remember her unparalleled uniqueness. Her strong personality shone brightly each day of her life. No adventure was too big or too small for Robin, who loved road trips in her RV with her best friend Char, a cold Corona, rooting for the Green Bay Packers and Central Michigan University, lighthouses, and of course, her cowboy hats.
Robin loved to dance and sing, she was always the life of the party. Enthusiasm and joy poured out of her, ensuring that no one could escape her loving embraces and hearty kisses. Moreover, Robin became a de facto "mama" to many who thrived in the light of her unconditional love.
Robin lived her life to the fullest, loving those around her, and placing her trust in Jesus Christ as her personal savior. Those of us who had the privilege to be loved, hugged and kissed by Robin will miss her spunk, her attitude, her compassion, and even her stubbornness.
We will celebrate her life January 20th at 4 p.m. at The Rock Church located at 11630 South 700 East in Draper, Utah.
Her family thanks the staff at Chateau Brickyard, the incredible doctors, nurses and healthcare professionals at both the University of Utah and St. Joseph's Villa for the loving care and support they gave Robin during the last 19 months.
