Ella Rae Henry Felsted

1929 ~ 2017

Ella Rae Henry Felsted, 88, passed away March 21, 2017 peacefully with her family by her side. She was born Jan. 3, 1929 in Twin Falls, Idaho to Raymon Franklin and Pearl Naylor Henry. Ella Rae was the oldest of three children and grew up in Eden, Idaho where she excelled in both academics and sports. At 16, Ella Rae moved to Salt Lake City and attended the University of Utah on Scholarship. She graduated Phi Kappa Phi with a Business Degree. While teaching business at East High School, she met her Eternal Companion, Lloyd Matthew Felsted.

Ella Rae and Lloyd were married June 21, 1951, in the Salt Lake City Temple. They shared 51 years together in Salt Lake, where they raised four children who were always the center of their lives. Ella Rae was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, having provided valiant service all the days of her life. Her church service included callings in the Primary Presidency, Relief Society Presidency, Young Women Presidency, Cub Scout Leader and Compassionate Service Leader.

She and Lloyd served a Temple Mission in the Salt Lake Temple for eight years. They also served a mission in the Bern Swiss Temple. Ella Rae had a deep and abiding testimony of the Gospel and her Savior Jesus Christ, a testimony she shared willingly and frequently. Ella Rae was the heart and soul of her family, a fulcrum who worked tirelessly to link past and present generations together. She was energetic, full of life, cheerful, compassionate and always ready to serve others. She will be greatly missed.

Ella Rae is preceded in death by her husband Lloyd and her parents. She is survived by brothers Gay (Linda) Henry and Robert (Colleen) Henry, Idaho; children Devon (Dave) Pelton, Janet Maack, Spencer (Sabrina) Felsted, Anne (Jim) Bell; 11 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, March 24, 2017 at 11:00 am at the Olympus 1st Ward Chapel, 4100 Camille St. (2500 E.) Family and friends may call Thursday evening from 6 ‚ 8 pm at the Ward, and one hour prior to the services at the church on Friday. Interment: Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park
