Wesley Grant Witt

1955 ~ 2018

Sandy UT- Wesley Grant Witt, our loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle, brother, great-grandfather and dear friend, departed this mortal life while surrounded by loved ones on November 24th, 2018 after a courageous battle with cancer/ liver disease. He was 63 years old.

Wesley was born on Feb 28th, 1955 to Grant and Lova Nichols Witt in Murray, Utah. He married Claudia Henke, the love of his life and his eternal companion, on Dec 18, 1971.

Some of dad's favorite memories were of his childhood with his grandmother Nichols baking him his own huckleberry pie and taking such tender care of him. The times he spent on his dad's shoulders wading in the Provo river fishing. His unwavering trust in Heavenly Father and answers to prayers came early in life when he and his dad found themselves lost in high Uintah's while fishing, when a blinding blizzard overtook them and unknowingly at the edge of a cliff they knelt down and prayed, the clouds lifted just enough to see the tops of the trees saving their lives.

Dad spent his life in sales and Management. He became friends with customers and clients along the way and always tried to help them more than make sales. Some of our favorite memories were spent in the front seat of his truck or van on a day sales trip to Richfield or Vernal. He taught his children to work hard, we had many family jobs that we all helped with from cleaning the local school to packaging nylons or digging holes for sprinkling systems. He worked side by side with us and taught us to be grateful for employment.

Wesley was well known for his genuine love and compassion for his family and friends. He developed many meaningful, life-long friendships through all areas of his life that he deeply cherished; indeed, it was the true passion of his life. He always had a special place in his heart for the young single adults that he served as Branch President. He served, loved and cherished all who came into his life.

We admired and never doubted his unconditional love that he shared with our mom and his unwavering faith in his Savior Jesus Christ, whom he faithfully relied on and found comfort in during his prolonged illness.

In his own loving words, dad said, "[his] 26 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren are all marvelous people". He will be dearly missed by all who knew him. Until we meet again.

The family would like to thank the IMC Palliative/hospice teams including Kim, Deborah, Natalie, Amber and Bonnie for taking such tender care of him during some of his hardest days. We would also like to thank Dr. Edward Frech and his transplant team and Dr. Ivan Zendejas for giving us extra time with him.

If you would like to make a donation to the LDS Humanitarian fund or Cured Nfp (for Eosinophilic disease that affects members of his family) or providing a simple act of service to someone you meet along your way, we know that any of these would make him smile.

Wesley Witt is survived by his wife, Claudia; son Russell (Rachel) Witt; daughters Wendy (Mike) Connors, Mindi (Chris) Overstreet, Jaquilin (Scott) Hadlock, Jennifer (Zach) Barnes; son John (Erecca) Witt and Sister Loretta (Doug) Hunter.
