Edward Grant Nielson, also known as Ed, passed away on November 15, 2023, at the age of 77 in Sandy, Utah. Born on August 28, 1946, in Maryland, Ed was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend. He will be deeply missed by all whom knew him.
Ed was a patient and loving individual, known for his caring nature towards everyone around him. He had a special passion for coaching soccer and dedicated countless hours to mentoring and guiding young boys throughout the years. His impact on their lives will be remembered and cherished.
In addition to his coaching endeavors, Ed also had a successful career in the construction industry. He displayed great skill and dedication in his work, leaving a lasting impact on the projects he contributed to.
Outside of his professional life, Ed found joy in his hobbies, particularly fishing. This allowed him to unwind and connect with nature, bringing him peace and fulfillment.
Ed leaves behind a loving family, including his wife Judy, son Eric, Eric's wife Marie, and their three boys Collin, Theodore, and Oliver. Their memories of Ed will forever hold a special place in their hearts.
Ed's military associations were with the Air Force, where he served with honor and dedication during Vietnam. His commitment to his country and fellow servicemen was unwavering.
A Celebration of Life will be held for Ed. The details of the ceremony will be announced at a later date.
