John Wallace Armour passed away at home surrounded by family on April 18, 2017 from complications related to cancer. John was born on December 29, 1934 in Salt Lake City, UT to Kista Marie Dahl and William Armour. The youngest of six children, he remained close to his siblings throughout his life. John graduated from South High School where he was active in choir and formed many lifelong friendships. He continued his studies at the University of Utah and received a BS in Economics. A passionate Utes fan, he held football and basketball season tickets for over 40 years.
In 1957, John married the love of his life Diane Vincent and together they had two children. He was a dedicated family man and instilled in his children and grandchildren the values of commitment, loyalty, and responsibility. John worked as a manager at Mine and Smelter Supply Co. for many years. He then started his own business, John Armour Sales, where he was a factory representative for plumbing supplies. His unwavering honesty was valued by all who knew him.
John is survived by his wife Diane, daughter Elizabeth Armour-Roth, son Bill (Michelle) Armour, grandchildren Madeline Roth, Stewart Roth, Hannah Armour, and John Armour, sister Donna Klenk, and many beloved nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, April 23 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM, at Larkin Sunset Gardens located 1950 E Dimple Dell Road Sandy, UT. An additional visitation for friends and family will take place on Monday, April 24 from 1:00-2:00 prior to funeral services at the same location. Interment at Larkin Sunset Gardens.
