  • Elaine Jarrett died peacefully in her sleep on December 23, 2021, just one week following her 97th birthday. She and her sweetie, Bill, are now reunited following 66 yrs. of marriage.

Elaine was mother to 4 children, Ron (Lucie), Craig (Kim), Camille (Roger), and Connie (Rick). She celebrated their successes and helped them deal with their challenges.

Elaine found joy in her 15 grandchildren and 44 great grandchildren. She always wanted to be involved with them and whenever possible she would support them in what was going on in their lives.

Elaine was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in every auxiliary on the ward and stake levels. After working in the Church Magazine Department for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day saints for 13 years, she and Bill served a mission to “Old Nauvoo” in Nauvoo, Illinois.

She loved to travel and was able to go on many trips and cruises around the world with their friends, Roland and Lois Senior. She visited many interesting locations and picked through the food, eating only those items she was familiar with.

She was a friend to all she met and everyone cherished her friendship. After Bill’s death, loneliness was difficult for her until she moved to Creekside Senior Living. There she met new friends and loved to play bingo and cards with the ladies.

Later in life, when her mobility became an issue, she would always say, “I’ll be better tomorrow.” and often was. She happily celebrated her birthday on December 16th, visiting with family and friends.

As her family, we appreciated the love and service of all those that helped and provided care for her. Especially her hospice care givers. Elaine was Preceded in death by William R. Jarrett (Husband), Isaac Johnson (Great Grandson), Luke Johnson (Great Grandson), and Keith Shippee (Brother).

Elaine set a wonderful example of Christ-like love for everyone by being cheerful and considerate. Her legacy will be honored by following her example.

A Viewing for family and friends will be held Thursday, December 30, 2021, from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple. Private family services will follow. Interment at Redwood Memorial Cemetery.

    Guestbook/Condolences

    Ron (and all the family)
I send my love and my sympathy to you at the passing of your sweet mother but oh what a joyous reunion
she and your Dad are having. I have SO many fond memories of your Mom and Dad and will be eternally grateful for their influence in my life. I very much want to attend the viewing but since my driving skills have become increasingly less I depend on family to get me places. Hopefully I will be able to work something out with one of my sons. If I am not able to make it - please know that I will be there in spirit.

    Dear Family,f
I listened to the weatherman...if I were younger, I'd be right there with you now!
This evening I so wanted to represent my wonderful husband, Keith, the father of five sons, and Elaine's only sibling. I simply cannot drive at night to be with you. Just knowing they are together now is comforting.
I have such warm, loving feelings when I think of your Mom. Keith, Elaine and I spent many a time together playing cards. She always was sharp as a tack 'n such fun to be with. Many deep conversations occurred over dessert at the end of games. Elaine's example of kindness, patience, firmness 'n love was who she is/was, always will be!
Tis been my honor to have known her through the years...and forever-❤
