Ellen Elizabeth Demkov Morris passed away June 6, 2024, at her home in Salt Lake City, Utah after a valiant battle against colon cancer.

Ellen was born to Dolores Elise Stanton Demkov and Viktor William Demkov on Saint Patrick’s Day, March 17, 1964, in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was the youngest of five children. She attended Clayton High School and the University of Utah where she pursued her general studies. She especially enjoyed drama and acting.

David Morris was the manager at an apartment complex Ellen and her then-infant son Andrew were moving into. They became friends and quickly knew they were meant to be together as a family forever. They were married and sealed in the Salt Lake Temple.

She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Ellen was a Realtor and Property Manager and served her family, church and community. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and a Daughter of the Utah Pioneers. She enjoyed reading scriptures, baking, cooking and canning, gardening, camping and fishing, and she especially liked candy.

She was a smart and industrious woman and was self-taught in many unexpected disciplines. She had her own tool bag and took pride in being able to do various remodeling jobs such as flooring, painting and tile setting. She was always learning new things, whether it was staying up on tax code, getting her Realtor license or starting a housing rental business.

Ellen was preceded in death by her parents Viktor and Dolores, and her brothers John and Robert. She is survived by her husband David, their son Andrew, and her two granddaughters, Laila Morris and Mariam Morris. She is survived by her sister Linda Wilson and her brother James Demkov.

The funeral services for Ellen will be held at 2:00pm Wednesday, June 12, 2024, at the chapel at Larkin Sunset Lawn Cemetery with an open viewing prior to services, beginning at 12:30pm. The interment following the service will be at Larkin Sunset Lawn Cemetery, 2350 East 1300 South in Salt Lake City. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the John Huntsman Cancer Institute.

Thinking about you Dave. Thank you for taking care of my "sister from another mother". I cherish my fun times as a kid hanging out with Ellen and I will miss her dearly. I don't know who my doll will talk to now. Love you both.

My sincere condolences to you Dave and Drew. I'll miss visiting with Ellen at NPS and talking on the phone. Thank you for your loving care of Ellen during this difficult time. You guys are the best. Love you so much.

Dave and Drew, may God continue to comfort you as days pass. Cherish the memories you have with Ellen and let them be a comfort to you. She loved you both so much. I like to imagine Aunt Ellen and Mom (Olivia) are in heaven cooking up a storm and enjoying delicious food. I will hold on to Ellen's final message to forgive and live without clinging to regret. I will always cherish the good times of sleepovers, dollar movies, the Ricky Martin concert (Yes she did that for me!), and the many holiday parties we enjoyed as a family. I am thankful for the friendship and help she showed my mother in a difficult time. Her efforts have personally blessed my family to this day. Love, Deedee
