David Steven Pettigrew died peacefully in his sleep at home while in hospice care on September 2, 2015. David was born on September 7, 1948 in Salt Lake City to Margie Silvers Pettigrew and Richard Anderson, adopted by David Pettigrew.
David was kind, compassionate, caring,generous, and a friend to all he met. Regardless of what others thought, he always found the best in everyone. David was NOT easy to forget. His intellect was superior in all facets of life. His love for poetry, photography and the universe made you think about your own life. David was the rock fairy, audiophile, mentor and friend to all. His wit and humor were infectious. He loved and is survived by his pack of dogswho miss him already ‚ He was the Big Dog, the Alpha.David is also survived by his husband, Christhian Munoz-Macias; brothers, Bill, Scott, Craig, Kory, Shon; sisters, Liz, Suzie, Patty, Sherilyn; Uncle Tom Silvers (Ginger); numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents.
A viewing will be held from6:00-8:00pm,Monday, September 7, 2015at Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple,Salt Lake City.A graveside service will be held at10:00 am,Tuesday, September 8, 2015at the Salt Lake City Cemetery, 280 North Cypress Avenue. Memorial donations may be made to theHumane Society of Utah.
