Dolores Ruth Allen Donohoo, 79, passed away peacefully, February 25, 2018, in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was born October 24, 1938 in Logan, Utah the daughter of Lavor and Ruth Smith Allen. Dolores attended schools in Salt Lake City, Utah and graduated from East High School. She enrolled in college courses to prepare her for her chosen profession of Executive Secretary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Auditing Department. A job she loved for over 22 years. She married David Owen Donohoo in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on June 14, 1962. Their son David G Donohoo was born in 1963.
She held numerous positions in her ward with her favorite being that of the Primary chorister. She was a Cub Scout Den mother as well as Sunday School Teacher with her beloved husband David. She loved the Utah Jazz, gardening, Christmas Lights, Autumn Leaves, playing piano, and most importantly her family. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the lights of her life.
She is survived by her son, David G (VoyAnne). Her grandsons Adam, David (Marie), Michael (Sheri), Justin (Michelle); great-grandchildren Kyra, Rheece, Riley, Owen, Parker, Linkin, Max and Leo. A sister Donna (Jim) Barrus. Preceded in death by her parents and her loving husband.
The family wishes to thank the entire Staff at Sagewood Assisted Living for the loving and compassionate care of our mother. She loved her time there with her second family. We would also like to thank a special Niece and Nephew Judy and Brent Gingell and their family for their selfless love and devotion to mom.
A funeral service will be held Friday, March 2, 2018 at the Larkin Sunset Lawn Funeral Home (2350 E. 1300 S) at 11:00 am. A viewing will be held from 9:30 am ‚ 10:30 on Friday immediately prior to the services. Condolences can be shared with the family at www.larkinmortuary.com.
