Growing up during the Great Depression instilled in Wilma a strong character, and a resilient spirit. She reveled in her pioneer heritage and any task that was put before her. Wilma worked hard throughout her life at many types of jobs but gravitated to bookkeeping and tax preparation which she did well into her ‘80s. She owned an LDS bookstore for many years and loved having her own businesses.

Wilma loved her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. To her, family was everything. She was also active in her church, serving anywhere she was asked with zeal and determination. Whatever she did, she put her whole heart and soul into it. One of Wilma's favorite hobbies was sewing. As an accomplished seamstress, she created many costumes for productions and contests and loved sewing clothing for herself and her daughters.
