Wayne Alvin King

1949 ~ 2018

Wayne passed away Tuesday, November 27, 2018 in Riverton, Utah. He was born June 10, 1949 to Marilyn and Ray King in Salt Lake City, Utah. After losing his father at a young age, Jack Calton took on the role of being his father. Wayne graduated from South High in 1968. He married Teri Allen on June 25, 1975. Wayne and Teri had two sons, Sean together and Scott from a previous marriage. Wayne was in the jewelry business and worked for OC Tanner for44 years retiring in 2011. He had many great friends and memories at OC Tanner. Wayne was an icon at OC Tanner. Wayne also loved spending time at Teri's jobs where she worked with the mentally handicapped. Wayne gained many friends there. Wayne truly lived life to the fullest. He enjoyed all sports and made it to many NASCAR races, with Kurt Busch being his favorite driver. Wayne had a true love for his animals, his kitties and his puppers all loved him, and he loved them. He was always the life of the party, telling jokes and lighting up the room with his famous "who is pretty" or "damn it, I'm pretty". He loved any time that he was able to spend with family and was always so proud of his sons, granddaughterand great granddaughter. Wayne was an excellent cook and had many specialties. One of his specialties was his famous chile verde, which he won many chile verde cook offs with family and his fabulous prime rib.

Wayne is survived by wife Teri, sons Sean and Scott, granddaughter Nicole King, great granddaughter; Sloane, father Jack Calton, mother-in-law Darlene Allen, siblings Susan Kinghorn (Dee), John Calton (Robyn), Joe Calton, Cindy Zercher (Terry), Mike Calton, brother-in-law Jeff Allen (Peggy), many nieces, nephews, good family and friends, new and old. Preceded in death by his father Ray King, mother Marilyn Calton, father-in-law Edwin Allen and brother James King.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 4, 2018 at the Hidden Valley 3rd Ward Chapel, 11755 South 2000 East, Sandy, UT. A viewing will be held Monday evening from 6-8 p.m and Tuesday morning from 9:30-10:30 a.m. prior to the services at the church.
