Our kind loving father, grandfather and great grandfather Douglas Donald Jacob passed away on September 12, 2013. He was born on December 8, 1937 in Price, Utah to Bertram Edward Jacob and Mary Vogrinec. He married the love of his life Ila Mae Baron May 27, 1961 in Elko, Nevada. He lived for the past 50 years in Sandy. Doug was a very dedicated employee; he worked for the Sears Service Center for over 35 years. Doug loved motorcycle riding, fishing, camping, and was an excellent wood carver, not to mention the biggest flirt in town.
Doug never meet a stranger, and everyone who met him was an instant friend, Doug is survived by his daughters, Dawn (Donald) Barkes, Lisa (David) Ball, Judy (Peter) Downs, 3 granddaughters Jennifer, Ashlee, and Kaylee and 4 grandsons Patrick, Brody, Colby, and Connor as well as 4 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife Ila Mae, his father Bertram, mother, Mary and brother Allen. He will be dearly missed by all.
A graveside service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 20, 2013 at Larkin Sunset Gardens Cemetery, 1950 E. 10600 S., Sandy. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at Larkin Sunset Gardens Mortuary.
