Our dear mother stepped into the loving arms of her eternal companion, Adrian Keith Long Sr. on January 6, 2015 after a 30 year separation. Mother was born in Paradise, Utah on October 26, 1921 to Alger Franklin and Rhoda T. James Allen. Her life was one of great adventure. She traveled the world extensively due to our father\s work assignments and lived in Afghanistan, the Philippines and Egypt. Her cooking skills won several ribbons and a grand prize at the fair. From her mother, Mom inherited the ability to sew. Reading, collecting pretty things, dancing, playing Skipbo, and watching the Utah Jazz games and Jeopardy brought her much enjoyment. Mom always liked to look nice and had an eye for fashion. As a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she served in various callings. She valued her friendships and the love of her family.
She is survived by four children: Karen, Kristine (Chris), Daris (Janet) and Jeffrey (Laura), daughter-in-law Elisabeth (Tom). Her posterity includes 15 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. Preceded in death by a son, Adrian K. Long Jr., 3 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild and her siblings.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 9, 2015 at the South Cottonwood Stake Center, 1250 East 4800 South, Salt Lake City, Utah.
