Faye Richards Nichols, age 95, passed away peacefully in her home in Sandy, UT surrounded by family and loved ones in the afternoon of Tuesday the 15th of March 2022.

Faye was born on February 20th 1927 to her mother Maggie Richards and her father Samuel Richards in Garland, Utah located in Box Elder County. She was raised with her three siblings Wanda Mae Richards, Dean LeRoy Richards, and her only surviving brother Samuel Lynn Richards.

Faye graduated from BYU in 1949 and taught both P.E. and English at Jordan High School from 1950-1952. She also worked at Cottonwood Hospital in Murray, UT for 30 plus years where she aided in cancer cell screenings. She met her late husband Clyde Simeon Nichols (dec. 2007) in 1950 and they were married July 18, 1951 in the Logan Utah Temple.

Faye enjoyed many hobbies throughout her life. Some of her favorites included traveling, gardening, swimming, quilting, camping, and hunting just to name a few. She served a mission with her husband in the Johannesburg District in Rustenburg, South Africa in 1992-1993. She was a member of the Fair Oaks Ward where she held many callings including Sunday School teacher, Relief Society teacher, Relief Society Secretary, and Sports Director. She also volunteered as a receptionist at the Jordan River Temple and was a decades long member of The Daughters of Utah Pioneers where she served as president for one year.

Faye was a loving mother to her four surviving children Bryan Richard Nichols, Robert Kim Nichols (spouse Lori Nichols), Carol Faye Swaner (spouse Sumner Swaner), and Gary Simeon Nichols. She is also survived by her ten grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren (with another one on the way).

Our family would like to extend a special thank you to Oscar Judd and DaNell Boerup for their loving kindness and generous care of our beloved Faye. Oscar has been such a comfort to our family knowing he was by her side in her twilight years as well as the days leading up to her passing. We would also like to extend a thank you to the Fair Oaks Relief Society for their help in this difficult time.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday the 19th of March 2022 at Larkin Sunset Gardens Mortuary at 1950 East Dimple Dell Road (10600 South), Sandy, UT 84092. The viewing will be at 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM with the funeral directly after at 11:00 AM.

Kim,
Shortly after Boyd and I were engaged, we went up to Sandy so I could meet his family. While there, Boyd brought me up to your place, then you and Boyd left me in the tv room with your dad. Faye came home shortly after that and we got acquainted---I loved her immediately. Such a sweet and personable woman. I always enjoyed my visits with her.
My condolences for your loss. You surely will miss her.
