Our beloved father and grandpa passed away on June 5, 2014. He is preceded in death by his sweet wife, Helen W. Franke, his two sons, Robert and Roger, a darling infant granddaughter, Laura, and just about all his buddies.
At 95, he continued to spend his days working hard, serving others, and surrounded by a family that simply adored him. He was a profoundly good man and example to us all.
He is survived by his brother, Raymond (Louise), his children; Kathleen Franke, Harold Franke (Linda), grandchildren; Paula Beasley (Troy), Kristine Kenney (Judd), Lisa Dahl (Doug), Steven Franke, Brent Brainich (Darci), Jill Nelson (Andrew), and fourteen great grandchildren, all of whom will forever be inspired to carry on his legacy of service and generosity.
His many talents include being able to fix just about anything, growing a beautiful and bounteous garden, and telling some pretty amazing stories about his days in the Army during WWII.
Family and friends may call for a brief visitation on Tuesday, June 10, 2014 from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at Larkin Mortuary, 260 E. South Temple, Salt Lake City, Utah. A graveside service will be held at the Salt Lake City Cemetery at 11:30 a.m.
