Obituary

Floy Whitmill Kerr passed away peacefully on May 22, 2026, at her daughter's home.

She was born May 20, 1936, in Kimball, Idaho, one of 8 children to William Whitmill and Beulah Frandson

Floy lost her mother when she was 7 and her father when she was 12, so she was raised by her older siblings, an aunt, and her stepmother, Lucy. She still had fond memories of that time growing up.

Floy met and married Larry Walker and had their son, Thayne. They later divorced. Floy then moved to Salt Lake and met and married William Priest, and they had 4 children: Debbie, Vern, Karen, and Stacey. Together as a family, there were many good memories. Bill and Floy later divorced

Floy worked for Prentiss Hall and Albertsons until she retired

After raising her children, she met and married Carl Kerr. Together, they loved to entertain with family and friends. Christmas with Mr. & Mrs Clause was always a fun and exciting party to look forward to. Floy and Carl loved to travel and were able to travel the world extensively. Floy often said she never thought a small farm girl from a small town in Idaho would have so many wonderful opportunities to see so many amazing places

Floy was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She loved reading church books and her scriptures. For many years, she enjoyed attending Religion classes. After Carl passed, she continued to travel in the U.S., going on Temple tours with her good Friend

Floy is survived by her children, Leslie Walker, Debbie Covington (Paul), Vern Priest (Jana), Karen Petersen (Mark), and Stacey Durfey, 18 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren, her sisters Belva and Martyn, her special niece Nadine, and son-in-law Rocky Kerr (Cindy)

Floy is preceded in death by her parents, William and Beulah, Larry Walker, William Priest, Carl Kerr, and her son, Thayne

A memorial service will be held Monday, June 1st, at Larkin Mortuary, 1950 E 10600 S. The viewing will be from 11:00 am -12:15 pm, with the graveside service to follow at 12:30 pm

The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to Applegate Hospice and all of their staff for the compassionate care, kindness, and comfort they provided.
