Frank Alfred Rueckert, our beloved father, husband, grandfather, brother, and friend passed away quietly at home January 30, 2024, at the age of 83.

Frank was born April 7, 1940, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Frank and Thelma Craven Rueckert, the oldest of four children. Frank was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He graduated from Jordan High School and served a mission in the Germany North Mission, finishing his mission in the newly established Germany Berlin mission. Upon returning from his missionary service, he met and married Barbara Jean McLachlan and they were married and sealed in the Salt Lake Temple on September 12, 1963. He continued his studies at the University of Utah School of Engineering and worked as a civil engineer for more than 30 years. He specialized in wastewater management, and designed wastewater systems throughout the state of Utah, including Manti, Monticello, and South Valley and the expansion of the Hyperion wastewater treatment plant in Los Angeles, California.

Frank loved his family and could always be counted on to be there for his wife, children, and grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his sister Patricia Jane, his parents, and his sister Jennie Scriber. What a wonderful reunion in heaven they must have had when he passed through the veil.

Frank is survived by his wife Barbara and seven children: Chris (Tracy), Marcy (Michael) Pishl, Michelle (Dean) Tiffany, Clark (Kathy), David (Fawn), Michael (Veronica), Marc (Luisa); 19 grandchildren, and sister Sherry (Clifford) Boyce.

Frank was a man of few words, and those who did not know him well could see a prickly, grumpy exterior, but he had a gooey tender heart. He was quick with a smile and could tease with the best of them. He is loved dearly and will be greatly missed.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 10, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Larkin Mortuary-Riverton, 3688 West and 12600 South. A viewing will be held prior to services beginning at 9:30. Interment will follow in the Herriman City Cemetery.

Funeral services will be streamed via Zoom for those wishing to attend virtually. To watch the previously held funeral services, please click the "Watch Services" link above.

Although I did not know Frank, I know his brother, Dean, very well as we were companions it the West Berlin Mission. Frank's obituary painted a clear and loving portrait of him and I feel that I now know why Dean and Frank's family and circle and friends love and admire him so much.
Frank's spirit has transitioned from mortality to immortality and he is alive in the world of spirits and will continue in the work of the Lord on the other side of the Veil.
May the family and friends be comforted at this tender and sacred time.

We are unable to attend events honoring Frank but want to express our thoughts and love to you.
I have good childhood memories of being at Uncle Frank's and Aunt Thelmas at their home on 8th South.

I got to know Frank when I became friends with his son, Mike. He was exactly as described, grumpy exterior, but soft tender heart on the inside. And yes, he could tease with the best of them, but always with a loving smile. He will be missed, not only by his family, but by everyone he touched, including me.
