Ella Kaye Corless Alserda

1927 ~ 2016

Ella Kaye Corless Alserda passed away on April 17, 2016 in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was born October 9, 1927 in Kemmerer, Wyoming to Benjamin William Corless and Arvilla Danks Corless. She married Pete Alserda March 19, 1949 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Ella graduated from Evanston High School in May of 1946. She moved to Salt Lake City, Utah where she was employed at the Salt Lake City Veterans Hospital. Later she worked as a secretary for the Army Reserves at Fort Douglas then as a secretary for IML freight. She was an active member of the Silver Spurs Riding Club and Vice President of the Days of ‘47 All Horse Parade. She loved spending time with family and friends at her cabin in Oakley, Utah.

Survived by her children Lee (Lupe) Haswood, Lane (Gina) Alserda and Charlene Alserda, grandchildren Jenny Lou Alserda, Jesse Alserda and Katie Alserda, 5 great grandchildren and 3 siblings Shirley Rickett, Bill Corless and Lynn Rasmussen. Preceded in death by her husband, parents, 5 siblings, and many nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, April 22, 2016 at 3:00 p.m. at Larkin Sunset Gardens Cemetery, 1950 East Dimple Dell Road (10600 South) in Sandy. A celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, April 26, 2016 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Le Jardin, 1910 Dimple Dell Road (10600 South).
