Mary Kathleen Eldridge

1947 ~ 2017

On April 23, 2017 our loving Father in Heaven wrapped his arms around our wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend and returned Mary Kathleen Eldridge back to her home. She will be remembered for her love of life, her incredible talents, and mostly for the legacy she leaves behind. \"Kathy\" was born in Orange, California February 9th, 1947 to Clifford Lloyd and Mildred Trittipo. She lived in the Hawaiian Islands between ages 4-8, treasured her time there, and always wanted to return. She later resided in El Cajon, Ca. Her step-father was Lloyd Loftus, who was the mayor of El Cajon. She married her childhood friend and first kiss at her 16th birthday to Glenn Eldridge in 1967. They settled in Escondido where they raised 3 children. Kathy was an amazing seamstress, a fabulous cook, and loyal friend to everyone that she knew. She was baptized and confirmed a member of the LDS Church July 5th, 2002 and sealed to her husband and children in her later years.

She spent years helping, or in the service of others, as a volunteer and PTA president at Felicita Elementary in Escondido, CA, Girl Scout and Cub Scout Leader in the community, and doing hundreds of plays as the head costume designer at Patio Playhouse Community Theater and Palomar Community College. Kathy sewed for countless hours on thousands of costumes all over San Diego County. As involved as she was, she always included her family. Her children lives\ were always her top priority as well as the welfare of all of the people around her. She was a Band Booster for nearly two decades at San Pasqual H.S. in Escondido.

Kathy worked in the entertainment field as a volunteer and an employee, but also in Education as an Instructional Aid for 20+ years where she touched the lives of hundreds of troubled teens. Her dedication and love for others continued even to her last days where she was helping the residents at the CLCC. She loved to cook and always wanted to feed everyone. No one ever left her house hungry. Kathy is survived by her husband Glenn R. Eldridge, daughter Christina M. Darby and husband Richard, son Brian G. Eldridge and wife Kaylene, and son Aaron M. Eldridge and fiancé Venessa Rueckert, grandchildren Russell B. Eldridge, Joshua J. Eldridge, Sarah E. Darby, Matthew B. Darby, and Nicolai Rueckert, and brother Clifford Trittipo.
